The 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians has commenced in Samarkand, organized through the partnership of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

At the opening ceremony, Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, read out a welcoming address from President Shavkat Mirziyoev to the forum participants. Ms. Duarte Pacheco (President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union), Ms. Anda Filip (Secretary General of the Union), and N. Ismoilov (Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis) are also participating in the event . Approximately 250 participants—comprising young parliamentarians from 58 countries and representatives from 11 international organizations—are taking part in this prestigious international conference, which is being held under the theme “Restoring Human Rights, Justice, and Human Dignity in Challenging Times”"
