Payarik is the name of the city and village district in Samarkand Province. Payarik city had been called the Narimonovka settlement until 1991. The Payarik was the village of those who settled down in Russia in the 1880s and was originally called Fyodorovka, Katalas. The name of the Payarik is derived from the area of the Pay arik (National Encyclopedia of Uzbekistan, p. 643).
