The Alisher Navoi Central Park in Samarkand was crowded with representatives of state and public organizations, professors, writers, poets, students and pupils from early morning.
An event dedicated to the 581st anniversary of the great thinker was held at the foot of the statue of Alisher Navoi in the center of the park. It focused on the life of our great ancestor, the rich cultural heritage and its role in educating young people today. It was noted that the works of Hazrat Navoi became an invaluable spiritual heritage of the peoples of the world.
First Vice-Rector of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road", Professor J. Eltazarov, a member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan J. Suvonova spoke about the role of Alisher Navoi in the development of Turkic language and literature, the ideas put forward in his works.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministries of Tourism and Culture of the Organization of Turkic States.
“This is my third visit to Uzbekistan,” said Gozda Shahin, deputy head of the International Relations Department of the Turkish Ministry of Tourism and Culture. - We are pleased that this visit coincides with the 581st anniversary of the great poet of the Turkic world Alisher Navoi. The works of Navoi are also studied with special respect in Turkey. Turkish poets and writers have created educational works dedicated to the life and work of Navoi.
At the event, students read samples of Navoi ghazals and rubai.
Actors of the regional musical-drama theater performed scenes depicting the image of Hazrat.
At the end of the event, flowers were laid at the foot of the statue of the poet.
