Adiz Boboev, who is an acting governor of the region, met with Sung Ki Hak, President of the Korean Youngone Corporation.

The conversation focused on the investments made by the Korean company and the activities of enterprises in the Samarkand region. The amount of foreign direct investments made by the Youngone Corporation in Uzbekistan amounts to more than $28 million. Initially, the foreign enterprises “Samarkand Apparel” in the textile sector were established in Samarkand, and later “Buka Sports Wear” in the Buka district of the Tashkent region, and now about 1,000 permanent jobs have been created at these enterprises, - says Sung Ki Hak. It was announced that an additional $30 million will be invested in the next 2 years and further expansion of production and export volumes is planned. The company's president, Sung Ki Hak, announced that over the past year and a half, the foreign enterprise “Samarkand Apparel”  has been exporting ready-made clothing products to the South Korean market under the US brand “The North Face” and to the European market, in particular, Germany, under the famous global brand “Engelbert Strauss”. Acting regional governor Adiz Boboev expressed his support for further development of cooperation with the Korean company and the need to establish manufacturing enterprises in densely populated areas of the region. He noted that the enterprises to be established will also be a key factor in ensuring employment. It was announced that assistance will be provided in this direction within the framework of the law.
