A large investment project aimed at tungsten mining and deep processing was discussed in Samarkand region.

As part of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, Adiz Boboev, the governor of Samarkand region held a meeting with Pini Atahuz, a head of the United States company Cove Capital. At the meeting, Pini Atahuz spoke about industrial production and experience in the development of strategic mineral resources. The parties considered the issue of establishing a full production chain, including the effective development of tungsten reserves in Samarkand, as well as ore enrichment, concentrate production, and the production of high-value-added products. It was noted that the local government will provide support in geological work, licensing, infrastructure, and energy supply within the framework of the project. The possibilities of creating an industrial cluster specializing in the processing of strategic mineral resources in the region were also discussed. At the end of the meeting, it was noted that this initiative will serve to form new industrial growth points in the region, expand the production of export-oriented products, and strengthen international investment cooperation.
