


A global forum on the topic of “Combating transnational drug threats to ensure public health and security” has opened.
At the beginning of the prestigious conference, which is being held in cooperation with the Agency for the Control of Drugs and Firearms under the Administration of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the Head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoeva, read out an address from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev to the forum participants. The address noted the work being carried out in our country to combat drug crimes and prevent this scourge, cooperation with more than 50 states and international organizations in the areas of early prevention, effective treatment of drug addiction, and combating drug crimes. In addition, the head of our state put forward important initiatives to improve work in this area. Bo Mathiassen, Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, spoke at the forum. The forum is attended by representatives of the United Nations, the European Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the World Health Organization, the World Customs Organization and more than 20 other influential international organizations, heads of law enforcement agencies from about 50 countries, and more than 500 international experts and specialists in the field.
