“International Paragliding Festival” is being held in the Urgut district of the Samarkand region so as to popularize extreme tourism in our country and increase the number of foreign and domestic tourists.
Acting regional governor Adiz Boboev attended the opening of the festival. Paragliders from more than fifteen countries, including Great Britain, France, the UAE, Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine, are participating in the festival, which is being held for the first time in Samarkand.
The head of the region, Adiz Boboev, noted that the establishment of a new type of tourism in our region will be an impetus for further development of the industry in the future and an increase in the scope of tourism services. In the end, the opportunity to paraglide on Mount Urgut will be created throughout the year. This will play an important role in improving mountain tourism. In the future, it is necessary to build a ropeway on Mount Urgut and create decent conditions for visitors, the head of the region said. The festival is going to last two days.
