It has become a tradition to organize “the week of bookworm” in April every year in the following years.

Today, in the regional information-library center named after Pushkin, under the slogan “bibliophile nation” of the third Republic, “the week of bookworm”  can be said to be a continuation of this tradition.

The head of the regional branch of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, T. Tugalov, said that this week would be useful in forming a culture of reading among the population, communicating closely with writers and poets, and explaining the content and essence of the works. a collection of new books was presented to the library administration.

A book fair was organized during the event. Also, a meeting was held between Farangiz Khudoyorova, winner of the State Award named after Zulfiya, vice-president of the “Leaders of the Future” club, and young people.

At the event, a concert program and stage performances prepared by reading students were also presented.

The week of reading will last until April 15, and within the framework of the week, book exhibitions, viewing contests, meetings with creators, review of new literature, artistic and musical evenings, "I will donate a book to my favorite library" campaign will be held.
