
The 25th CISM World Military Triathlon Championship is being held at the “Silk Road” International Tourism Center in Samarkand.
This championship is being organized for the first time in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the International Military Sports Council (CISM), the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, the Triathlon Federation of Uzbekistan and the regional government. The opening ceremony of the world championship has been organized today. Adiz Boboev, an acting governor of Samarkand region, took part in it. At the ceremony, the importance of this prestigious competition and the fact that the anniversary championship is being held in the historical city of Samarkand were first discussed, and the state flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the flag of the International Military Sports Council were solemnly raised. This prestigious competition, which is being held for the first time in Uzbekistan, will not only strengthen cooperation between athletes, but also friendship and cultural ties with the peoples of the world. More than 100 athletes from 13 countries of the world - Uzbekistan, Belgium, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Slovenia, Switzerland, Qatar, Russia, Iran, Portugal and Kazakhstan - are participating in the competition. The competitions will be held in two categories - individual and team. Athletes will compete in 750-meter open water swimming, 19-kilometer cycling and 5-kilometer running.
