Another prestigious sporting event has started in the “Mujiza” amphitheater in Samarkand - the “Amir Temur Cup” international tournament in the R-1 discipline of hand-to-hand combat.

The strongest athletes from about 10 countries are competing in the ring for victory. Among them are representatives of Kyrgyzstan, India, Germany, Turkmenistan, Belarus and other countries. Those who spoke at the opening ceremony of the competition spoke about the importance of this international tournament, which is held once every two years, and wished the athletes success. A number of talented athletes are defending the honor of Uzbekistan in this prestigious tournament. In particular, in the 54 kilogram weight category - Sharofat Ortikova, in the 60 kilogram - Giyosiddin Jamoliddinov, in the 62 kilogram - Shahriyor Bahranov, in the over 97 kilogram weight category - Bekzod Mahamatov, and in the 75 and 80 kilogram categories - Nilufar Polvonova and Asadbek Hikmatov. The international tournament “Amir Temur Cup” serves as a training ground not only for athletes from our country, but also for those involved in combat sports from other countries. At the end of the tournament, the winners of the competition will be awarded.
