The “Conversation on Silk Road” forum has been organized in Bakiy city complex at the International Tourism Center.

The event is attended by Zurab Pololikashvili who is the head secretary of the World Tourism Organization  and Zhang Xiu, the Chairman of the World Tourism Organization ,Umid Shodiev the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan , Adiz Boboev the acting governor of Samarkand region, and representatives of various international organizations. The head of the region, Adiz Boboev, noted that the “Conversation on Silk Road” forum will serve as an important platform for dialogue on opportunities and prospects, problems and solutions in the tourism sector. “Our common goal is to turn tourism into an industry that not only brings economic benefits, but also brings peoples of the world closer together, serving peace and stability,” said Adiz Boboev. It is no coincidence that the forum is being held in the ancient city of Samarkand. In recent years, large-scale work has been carried out here to develop tourism. The number of tourists visiting the region has increased. This contributes to the further growth of Samarkand's reputation as a peaceful and travel-friendly city. The event will feature presentations on the prospects of the tourism industry, its development, and issues of cooperation.
