The Chinese International Conference “Twin Cities-2024” is currently being held in Kunming, the People's Republic of China.

Representatives from 41 countries are participating in the event, organized jointly by the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the China International Sister Cities Federation and the People's Government of Yunnan Province. A delegation from Samarkand region from the Republic of Uzbekistan has also been invited to the event.

During the conference, the work carried out in the past period within the framework of the sisterhood agreement signed between Samarkand region and Shandong province in 2022 was presented as an example. The cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, science and technology was highly appreciated.

The organizers of the event recognized Samarkand region as the best partner region twinned with Chinese regions and awarded it with a special prize.
