


Adiz Boboev, The governor of Samarkand region, held a meeting with Hofifa Indar who is a governor of East Java province.
During the conversation, issues of expanding cooperation between the two regions in the trade and economic, cultural, educational and tourism sectors were discussed. Hofifa Indar noted that the Indonesian people value Uzbekistan as a holy land, and separately noted that the reconstruction and opening of the Imam Bukhari memorial complex at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoev was an important event for Muslims. She also stated that establishing close ties with Samarkand is a priority for East Java. The parties assessed tourism as the main driver of cooperation and stressed the need to establish direct air travel between the regions. In addition, it was announced that appropriate measures will be taken to organize a visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation of East Javanese scholars in the future. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to develop cooperation between the Samarkand region and the East Java province.
