Samarkand - Milan: cooperation in innovation, education and medicine is going to be established

A delegation led by the acting governor of Samarkand region A. Boboev visited the Principia (formerly Arexpo) center in Milan.

This meeting was an important step in establishing strategic cooperation with Italy in the fields of technology, education and medicine. The Samarkand delegation got acquainted with the activities of the Principia center located in the Milano Innovation District (MIND). This center was established in 2015 on the territory of EXPO and is today one of the largest urban development and innovation ecosystem centers in Italy. As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the leadership of the University of Milan. The issues of establishing joint educational programs in engineering and digital technologies in Samarkand, organizing the exchange of professors and teachers and students in the field of industry 4.0, and cooperation in research projects were discussed. On the same day, the delegation also met with the leadership of one of the most advanced medical institutions in Italy - Ospedale Galeazzi - IRCCS. This hospital is one of the leaders in Europe in the fields of orthopedics, sports medicine and reconstructive surgery. During the meeting, issues of using Galeazzi's experience in establishing a modern medical center in Samarkand, establishing cooperation in the areas of training, internships and advanced training of medical personnel, and introducing innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies were considered.
