Adiz Boboev, the governor of Samarkand region, as well as members of the Council, local entrepreneurs and heads of higher education institutions took part in the event.

The meeting paid special attention to the issues of improving the quality of personnel training in the region, strengthening cooperation between education and production. The focus of the discussions was on expanding cooperation between educational institutions and business entities in the Samarkand region based on the principles of dual education. In particular, views were exchanged on the areas of direct involvement of students in production processes, the formation of practical skills, and the harmonization of scientific research with the needs of the real sector. The first vice-rector for youth issues and spiritual and educational affairs of the Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction, Sherzod Uzakov, spoke about the activities of the university and international cooperation. It is noted that today about 9 thousand students are studying at the university and about 400 professors and teachers teach them. The higher education institution has 4 faculties, and the educational process is organized on the basis of 39 bachelor's, 13 master's and 16 doctoral programs. The governor of the region, Adiz Boboev noted that close cooperation between educational institutions and entrepreneurs is of great importance in developing the regional economy and training competitive and modern personnel. He also noted the need to implement joint projects based on the proposals and initiatives submitted by entrepreneurs. At the end of the meeting, specific tasks were set to introduce dual education, establish joint research work, and provide employment to graduates of higher education institutions.
