
The business dialogue was attended by regional leaders and entrepreneurs.
It was noted that friendly relations between the Republics of Uzbekistan and South Korea are strengthening, and mutual trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation is developing every year. Speaking at the dialogue of entrepreneurs, the acting governor of Samarkand region, Adiz Boboev, noted that there are great opportunities, resources, and potential for further active development of inter-regional cooperation. Information was provided that millions of local and foreign tourists visit Samarkand every year, which creates great opportunities for businesses in the service, hotel, catering and transport sectors, that such industries as food, textile, building materials, chemical and mechanical engineering industries are developing in the region, that all necessary opportunities and amenities have been created for foreign investors, and that special privileges and preferences are provided for enterprises with foreign capital. In order to further develop relations between the regions, proposals were made to establish modern greenhouse, logistics and processing clusters in Samarkand based on Korean technologies, implement joint ventures and mutually beneficial projects in the mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering industries in free economic zones in the region, and jointly develop new projects based on Korean experience in developing medical, gastronomic, extreme, and pilgrimage tourism, along with tourist tourism. In turn, entrepreneurs from Chungcheongbuk-do province also expressed interest in implementing joint investment projects using the opportunities created in Samarkand. As part of the business dialogue, meetings were held in the “B2B” format and a number of agreements were reached.
