The new academic year has began as the sound of the first bell rang out in all general education schools across the country today.
A “First Bell” event was held at Specialized State General Education School No. 1 in Samarkand under the slogan: “As only homeland and only people, we will create a new life and future!” During the event, Adiz Boboev, the governor of the region, read out the holiday message addressed by the President to the nation's schoolchildren and educators. The regional leader urged young people to acquire solid knowledge and learn foreign languages, emphasizing the importance of elevating the quality of education to a new level and further increasing parental responsibility in the education and upbringing of their children. In the new academic year, 92,923 students are being enrolled in the first grade across 1,280 general education schools and 60 non-state educational institutions in the Samarkand region. The “President's Gift”—consisting of 12 types of school supplies, a school bag, and textbooks—was presented to the 105 first-grade students stepping into Specialized State General Education School No. 1 for the first time, while commemorative gifts were awarded to students who had achieved high scores on the IELTS exam.
