Adiz Boboev, who is an acting governor of Samarkand region, met with Attilio Fontana, the president of the Lombardy region.

It was noted at the meeting that relations between Uzbekistan and Italy are currently being further strengthened . “We warmly remember the recent visit of the Lombardy delegation to the Samarkand region and the meaningful meetings held. Undoubtedly, the cooperation agreement between the Samarkand region and the Lombardy region signed during the visit opened a new page in the development of friendly relations between our regions, “- said Adiz Boboev, an acting governor of Samarkand region. At the meeting,  expanding trade, economic and investment relations and reaching mutually beneficial agreements were discussed . “ The fact that Lombardy has achieved great success in all areas, including mechanical engineering, light industry, agriculture and many other areas, and the fact that the world's leading manufacturing companies (Perilli, Armani, Versace) operate in the Lombardy region has further increased our interest in strengthening our cooperation in the future, - said the head of the region. Attilio Fontana, The president of the Lombardy region, noted at the meeting that the development of cooperation with Uzbekistan, especially with Samarkand, is an important process. - We know well that Samarkand has long been one of the most important cities in the country, occupying an important place on the trade routes connecting Europe and Asia. Today, continuing cooperation between countries at the regional level is a historic event. The Lombardy region is always ready for cooperation, - said Attilio Fontana. During the conversation, Adiz Boboev reported that preliminary project proposals for the establishment of an Uzbek-Italian Center for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses were developed within the framework of the agreements reached during Attilio Fontana's visit to Samarkand in June of this year. The meeting also discussed the issue of accelerating the implementation of these agreements.
