
The opening ceremony of the “Omonkuton” tourist village was attended by the head of the region, Adiz Boboev, industry experts, and rural dwellers.
The head of the region touched upon the attention paid to the tourism sector in Samarkand, the reforms being implemented to develop tourism infrastructure, and the opportunities for increasing the economy and attractiveness of regions through tourism villages. The Omonkuton neighborhood is the largest and most visited area in the Samarkand region. Up to 5-10 thousand vacationers and tourists come to the neighborhood per day in the summer season. The lush nature of the area, high mountains, and the crystal clear water flowing from the stream attract people. The infrastructure has been improved to create a number of amenities for visitors to the neighborhood. Currently, more than 50 family guesthouses, capsule accommodation facilities and other service facilities are operating for tourists. The head of the region got acquainted with the presentations aimed at using new opportunities in the tourist village and gave instructions to those responsible for implementing projects aimed at increasing the income of the population in the region.
