An event dedicated to the commissioning of a mosque built in Mergancha neighborhood (mahalla) of Urgut district was held.

It was attended by the chairman of the Muslim board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Usmonkhon Alimov, the governor of the region Erkinjon Turdimov.

The area of the mosque is 1.06 hectares.  The mosque has two floors and can accommodate about 8,000 worshipers.  In the middle of the mosque is a 36-meter-high dome.  Four 40-meter-high towers were built at the four corners.

There is also a modern toilet, a 2-storey administrative building with all amenities for imam-khatib and other staff.
