
Adiz Boboev, an acting governor of the region, met with representatives of “Gimcheon High School” of South Korean school.
In accordance with the agreement between the Samarkand International University of Technology and Gimcheon High School, a memorandum of cooperation was signed on the possibility of children from low-income families from Samarkand studying for three years at a prestigious school in South Korea , which was reported during the meeting.
As a result of this cooperation, middle and high school students are being given the opportunity to study abroad. 5 students were selected from among the students and given multi-faceted intensive education in Korean, English and mathematics. Then the students were recommended to Gimcheon High School. Of them, only three were accepted to the school based on their study and mastery results. The three selected students will be provided with scholarships by Gimcheon High School, which will cover their tuition, accommodation, airfare to Korea, and textbooks, said Seung Min Lee, deputy director of Gimcheon High School. The head of the region, Adiz Boboev, noted that “the ancient bonds of friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Korea are connected by the similarities in culture, customs, and traditions of the two peoples. Today's cooperation in the field of education is beneficial for both countries, and I am in favor of further developing such practical actions”, said the head of the region, Adiz Boboev. At the meeting, the three selected students were awarded certificates for studying at Gimcheon High School.
