The governor of the region Erkinjon Turdimov met with the head of the Seed Center of the Russian Federation, academician Ivan Kuzmin and director general of the joint-stock company "Shchyolkovo Agrokhim" Salis Karakotov in Samarkand regional administration.

It was noted at the meeting that relations between Uzbekistan and Russia have been steadily developing in all directions.  In particular, the joint projects of the regions in the field of agriculture are giving effects.

 E.Turdimov noted that in order to produce pesticides against agricultural pests, a plot of land has been allocated for the Urgut free economic zone in the Sazagon massif of Nurabad district, where a plant for plant protection chemicals is being built.  It is planned to invest $ 20 million in the project.

 At the meeting, it was also agreed that new varieties of agricultural crops such as grain, corn, soybeans imported from Russia will be grown in Samarkand in 2022 .
