The 57th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Bodies and Special Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the 21st meeting of the heads of security bodies and intelligence services of the CIS member states are planned to be held in Samarkand on October 16-17. The heads of special services of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyzstan Republic, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will participate in these meetings. Representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS member states will also participate in the events. The main goal of these conferences is to strengthen cooperation in ensuring security in the Commonwealth, including in combating international terrorism and extremism, transnational organized crime, threats to information security, as well as the illicit international trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The meetings are expected to consider a wide range of issues related to modern threats and coordination of mutual actions.
