


A festive event was held in Samarkand to mark the 120th anniversary of the establishment of trade unions in Uzbekistan.
The ceremony was attended by trade union activists, labor veterans, and representatives of various industries in the region. Adiz Boboev, the acting governor of Samarkand region, spoke at the event and congratulated trade union members and veterans on the holiday. The head of the region noted that glorifying human dignity, protecting their rights and interests are one of the most important principles of a social state. Today, 4,212 trade union organizations operate in the region, uniting about 800,000 employees and students. Trade unions play an important role in protecting their labor, social, and legal interests, and creating decent working conditions. At the event, labor volunteers who made a significant contribution to the development of the industry were awarded commemorative badges “120 Years of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan” and letters of gratitude from the regional administration.
