The IV Central Asian Athletics Championship is going to be held in Samarkand on September 23-25 of this year.

More than 300 athletes from 11 countries will participate in international competitions. The national teams of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines will visit our country to participate in the competition.

The competitions are organized by the Ministry of Sports Development, the National Olympic Committee and the Athletics Federation of Uzbekistan with the support of the Central Asian Athletics Association and “Uzbekneftgaz” JSC.”Afrosiyob Arena” sports complex in Samarkand city was prepared for the Central Asian Open Championship in athletics.

In addition to the main running events, athletes also compete in technical events, namely high jump, pole vault, long jump, discus, hammer and javelin.

Members of the national athletics team of Uzbekistan compete in almost all disciplines.

On the third day of the competition, the cup of the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Uzbekneftgaz” and the next stage of the international charity running competition “Save Aral 2022” will be held.
