Within the framework of his visit to the People's Republic of China, regional governor Erkinjon Turdimov met with party leaders of Shaanxi Province and Xi'an.

The development of friendship and cooperation between the Samarkand region and the Shaanxi province of China, strengthening of friendly relations between the parties, establishment of partnership relations, economy, science and technology, culture and education, tourism, protection of historical monuments were discussed during the meeting. Issues of exchange and cooperation in various forms in the fields of production and research were agreed upon. Implementation of mutually beneficial investment projects, expansion of trade, active participation in major events such as trade exhibitions and fairs were also at the center of today's discussion. At the end of the meeting, Erkinjon Turdimov invited the leaders and businessmen of Shaanxi province and Xi'an city to Samarkand. Business forums and meetings between businessmen of the two regions have been scheduled in the near future.
