The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited to the People's Republic of China on state issues today.

On May 18, after the high-level talks in Xi'an Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Xi Jinping signed a joint statement and adopted a comprehensive strategic partnership development program between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China for the period of 2023-2027.At this ceremony, the governor of Samarkand region, Erkinjon Turdimov, and the governor of Shaanxi signed an agreement on economic cooperation between Shaanxi and Samarkand region for 5 years. Samarkand region has established cooperation relations with China's Shaanxi province in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, and science. This relationship has developed considerably in the following years. The agreement for the next five years will be the basis for continuing these relations at a new stage.
