The event, organized by the “Uzsuvtaminot” Joint-Stock Company with the support of the World Bank and the Swiss government, is attended by officials in this field in our country, representatives of international financial institutions and experts, government representatives, and investors.

At the beginning of the conference, the acting governor of Samarkand region, Adiz Boboev,  noted that the development of water infrastructure not only improves the well-being of the population, but also serves to ensure the stability of the country's economy. It was noted that the use of modern technologies in the field and the efficient use of water resources are of particular importance today, when climate change and clean drinking water are becoming a global problem in the world. The work being carried out in Uzbekistan in cooperation with international financial institutions in this regard was recognized. According to data, in 2017-2024, more than 27.5 trillion soums were allocated to the development of the drinking and wastewater sector in our country. Of this, 1 billion US dollars fell to the contribution of international financial institutions. Through this, more than 7.7 million people were connected to a centralized drinking water network for the first time, significantly improving the quality of life. This year, it is planned to absorb international financial resources in the amount of 453.5 million dollars within the framework of 21 projects worth a total of 2.179 billion dollars. Within the framework of these projects, 9484.4 kilometers of drinking water networks and 3268.9 kilometers of wastewater networks will be laid. It is planned to build 18 water intake facilities, 32 wastewater treatment plants, and install 483 thousand modern water meters. In particular, large-scale work is being carried out in the city and region of Tashkent, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Bukhara, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Khorezm, Navoi regions, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
