President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev informed about this. "Today is a historic event - today my brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been awarded with the Order of the Supreme Imam Bukhari of Uzbekistan," said the President.

"As you know, at the 72nd session of the UN in 2017, I spoke about studying the legacy of our great grandfather Imam Bukhari, and at that time the President of Turkey, my brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan, supported these ideas," added the head of state.

"We have established an international scientific-research center and a school of hadith science in the name of his grandfather in Samarkand in order to deeply study the heritage of our grandfather Imam Bukhari in Uzbekistan," said the President.
