


A Young Leaders Summit with the participation of students from the world-famous Harvard University has begun at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand.
The forum, organized in collaboration with the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR), a non-profit organization operated by and run by students at Harvard University, and the Istigbolli Ta'lim school, is attended by Harvard students and their mentors, students of higher educational institutions in the Samarkand region, as well as students of the Presidential School and specialized schools, and active youth.The event began with a welcome speech by Obid Hakimov, who is an advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Economic Policy, to the summit participants. The congratulatory message noted that the Harvard Youth Summit, which is being held in our country for the first time among the Central Asian countries, will serve to bring work in this area to a new level, as a result of the high attention of the head of our state to supporting talented youth and realizing their potential. – This event is aimed at changing the perception formed in the minds of young people that “Harvard is too far, it is difficult to reach it,” said Muhsinjon Kholmukhamedov, the rector of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, who spoke at the opening of the summit. – Harvard University professors, teachers and leading students, active speakers in the fields of education, economics, politics and international relations are participating in the summit. For four days, they will talk with the youth of our country, hold Harvard-style seminars and leadership training. The Impact Challenge project will jointly find solutions to real-life problems, and students of world-famous universities will directly exchange views within the framework of College Panels. After the opening ceremony of the summit, Harvard representatives interacted with the youth of our country and provided information about the educational processes and opportunities at the university.
