Today, the Alisher Navoi Central Park in Samarkand was crowded with representatives of state and public organizations, professors, writers, poets, students and pupils.

 An event dedicated to the 580th anniversary of the great thinker was held at the foot of the statue of Alisher Navoi in the center of the park.  It reflected on the life of our great ancestor, his rich cultural heritage and his present-day dignity.

 It was noted that the works of Hazrat Navoi have become an invaluable spiritual heritage of the peoples of the world.  Samples of ghazals and quatrains were read in different languages.

 Artists of the regional musical-drama theater performed scenes depicting the image of Navoi.

 Participants of the event laid wreaths at the foot of the statue of Alisher Navoi.

 The events dedicated to the date continued with a concert program and a poetry evening at the Youth Center in Samarkand.
