Adiz Boboev, an acting governor of Samarkand region  met with Marc Farsi, the representative of the Italian Lombardy region in Uzbekistan.

The parties reviewed the current state of inter regional trade and economic cooperation between the Samarkand region and the Italian Lombardy region, the implementation of existing agreements and joint projects, and focused on priority areas for further development of relations during the conversation. Marc Farsi raised the issue of establishing a center in Samarkand that would issue certificates for products that meet the requirements of European markets. The head of the region, Adiz Boboev, noted that this is important at the moment and expressed the readiness of the regional government for cooperation in this area. This center will specialize in certain food products. Equipment will be imported from Italy, and specialists will be involved. The meeting also touched upon the prospects of the project on the placement of nurses in hospitals in Italy under a joint program between Italy and Uzbekistan. At the end of the negotiations, the issues of implementing the agreements reached on further developing cooperation between the Samarkand and Lombardy regions in the trade, economic, and investment sectors were also considered.
