The Lombardy - Samarkand inter-regional forum was held in Milan.

The event was attended by Adiz Boboev, who is an acting governor of Samarkand region, Attilio Fontana, the president of Lombardy region, and entrepreneurs from the two regions. Speaking at the forum, the head of the region noted that the cooperation agreement between Samarkand region and  Lombardyr egion, signed during the visit of Lombardy delegation to Samarkand region, has opened a new page in the development of friendly relations between our regions.

- There are great opportunities for further active development of inter-regional cooperation, - said Adiz Boboev. The head of the region informed the forum participants about the investment potential of Samarkand Region, the infrastructure created for the development of entrepreneurship, and noted that the region is located in the central part of the country - at an important intersection of transport and logistics routes. Major highways and railway routes pass through the region, which is of great importance in the international trade and freight transportation system. The head of the region made a number of proposals to further develop relations between the regions of the two countries. According to him, it was stated that it is intended to organize a separate industrial zone for Lombard entrepreneurs on an area of 60.0 hectares with all infrastructure conditions in Bulungur district. Here, it is possible to jointly implement high-tech projects in many areas, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry and the production of building materials. Proposals were also made to establish cooperation in agriculture, logistics and a multi-sector cargo transportation center, as well as in many other areas. - We aim to effectively use these opportunities to develop relations in all sectors of the economy, as well as reach new agreements, - said the head of the region. About 50 entrepreneurs from Samarkand region also participated in the forum. The main topic of the meetings was establishing close cooperation with Italian companies and implementing mutually beneficial investment projects. In turn, Lombardy side also expressed interest in implementing new projects in Samarkand region and actively cooperating with entrepreneurs. At the forum, a number of agreements were reached on further developing inter-regional relations and working together.
