Participants of the Imam Bukhari International Tourism Festival are in Samarkand

Pilgrims from Malaysia, Indonesia and the People's Republic of Bangladesh arrived in Samarkand as part of the Imam Bukhari International Tourism Festival.

Islamic scholars, sheikhs and scientists traveled along the “Tashkent-Bukhara-Samarkand” route and were met by officials of the regional administration at the Samarkand railway station. The festival participants, who had previously been to Tashkent and Bukhara regions, spent two days getting to know the rich history, cultural heritage and holy sites of these ancient regions. In particular, the shrines where such great Sufi scholars as Khoja Abdulkhalik Gijduvani, Khoja Ali Romitani, Khoja Muhammad Bobo Samosi, Khoja Said Amir Kulol and Bahauddin Naqshband were buried, made a great impression on the guests. According to the festival program, today the guests will visit the Imam Bukhari complex and the Imam Bukhari International Research Center. They will also visit other holy sites in Samarkand. At the end of the trip, the festival participants will continue their journey along the “Karshi-Termez-Tashkent” route according to the established program. This trip will leave the guests with great impressions of the rich history of Uzbekistan, its holy shrines and holy sites.
