Samarkand. The issues of regulation and proper functioning of night catering establishments and entertainment facilities were discussed at the meeting.

- Tourism is not only the city of Samarkand, but also one of the main ways of the regional economy, - said the governor of the region Erkinjon Turdimov. “Recently, special attention has been paid to the development of tourism at the level of modern requirements, the creation of all-round favorable conditions for local and foreign tourists in our country. Great benefits and opportunities have been created for industry entities and tourists, visas and other procedures have been improved. Every time the President visits Samarkand, he outlines the tasks we need to fulfill in this regard. After the pandemic, the industry is slowly returning to normal. The number of tourists in Samarkand has increased. Now it is a matter of providing them with quality service, an opportunity to have an interesting holiday, to stay in Samarkand for a few days and come back again. In general, we need to make tourism a permanent process, not a seasonal one.

The meeting also focused on the recent situation with tourists in Samarkand and criticized the behavior of police officers. It was noted that the relevant agencies are currently conducting a service inspection and a legal assessment of the actions of police officers.

It was noted at the event that it is necessary to ensure the smooth operation of catering establishments, entertainment and trade facilities, cultural organizations in the city, ensuring public safety and public order. It was noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of July 24, 2019 "Resolution on additional measures to ensure public safety in public catering establishments and entertainment facilities operating at night" and other procedures should be followed.
