We welcome the decision of the Cotton Campaign on lifting the global boycott of Uzbekistan’s cotton.
The boycott which had been in force for more than 12 years has been lifted thanks to elimination and absence of forced child labour during the cotton harvesting season of 2021 in the country.
The fact that Uzbekistan has put an end to a systematic use of forced child labour, recently had been also acknowledged by the International Labour Organization.
The aforementioned serves as evidence that the reforms being carried out by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on strengthening human honour and dignity will be continued and the process is irreversible.
