Afruza Hamdamova has become the champion ahead of schedule in the U16 girls' tournament in the FIDE World Junior Championship in Brazil!
She scored 9.5 points in 10 games (9 wins, 1 draw) and now, no matter what result she shows in the final round, no opponent will be able to catch up with her.
Afruza also won the U14 girls' tournament ahead of schedule at last year's FIDE World Championship and became the first female chess player from Uzbekistan to become a world champion.
Our 15-year-old compatriot became a two-time world champion today.
Congratulations, Afruza! Thank you to your parents and teachers!
