The head of our state got acquainted with the exhibition of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan organized in the “Great Silk Road” international tourism center in Samarkand.
It is known that the 25th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization is being held in Samarkand. It can be said that this is a recognition of the openness and freedom of our country, as well as the huge tourism potential. Based on these factors, all facilities are being created for the development of tourism in our country. Citizens of about a hundred countries can enter Uzbekistan without a visa. A simplified electronic visa procedure has been introduced for tourists from another 55 countries.
Tourism infrastructure is also being developed, and hotels, travel destinations and destinations are increasing. This year alone, 15,000 new guest places have been created, and their number reached almost 140,000. 540 recreation centers were built and 70 tourism routes were opened. 6 private airlines have started operations.
The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that there are still many opportunities in this field, and the meeting of the World Tourism Organization is a good opportunity to show them. A large area was created for this purpose.
It shows the tourism and investment potential of 14 regions of our country. Information about touristic and recreational opportunities of beautiful nature areas such as Zomin , Chorvoq, Chimyon, landscapes of tourism villages, eco and extreme travel destinations is collected.
Tourism committee, “Railways of Uzbekistan”, “Airports of Uzbekistan” and “Helicopters of Uzbekistan” have organized stands. The tourism potential of the Central Asian countries and start-up projects with the participation of foreign partners were also presented.
In general, a total of $2 billion worth of prospective projects will be presented to investors at the exhibition.
The head of our state inspected the expositions together with Zurab Pololikashvili, the main secretary of the World Tourism Organization. Officials were instructed to build tourism centers around the interesting destinations in the regions, to expand amenities, and to form concrete projects with investors.
